Fundraising campaign on GoFundMe organised by a compassionate Australian entrepreneur, Melinda Mayne

An Australian entrepreneur, Ms. Melinda Mayne, owner of Petlet Pet Friendly Holiday Accommodation, who is regularly involved with humanitarian causes and charitable projects, has organised a fundraising campaign to help raise the funds needed for the spinal surgery of DabbenMel.

This is the story in the Gofundme account that Ms. Melinda Mayne has organised:

DabbenMel was confined at the East Avenue Medical Center from 30 March to 22 May 2018 for gastropathy and UTI. He could still walk, accompanied by his cousin, when he was admitted to the hospital. At the later part of his confinement, he was diagnosed with hospital-acquired pneumonia. Even if the 4th lab culture was not yet completed he was abruptly discharged, with the doctors explaining that he was facing the risk of  acquiring more hospital-borne diseases if he didn't leave the hospital immediately.  Prior to his discharge, bacteremia/MRSA had developed.  He could no longer walk or even stand up.    Medication was continued at home but his attempts to stand up or walk again were futile.

On 7 December, 2018, he was brought to the hospital, this time the UERM  (University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Medical Center (Address:  64 Aurora Blvd., Quezon City, Philippines)  for severe abdominal pain and difficulty in eating (dysphagia) and fecal impaction. The MRI showed a hardened cyst at the base of his spine. The UERM doctors suspect it is the reason for the loss of sensation in his lower limbs and he cannot stand up, walk, or sit. A surgery needs to be done urgently as doctors want to remove the hardened cyst/abscess. Patient has been waiting in the hospital since 8 December 2018 for his spinal surgery. The titanium steel spinal implant alone is estimated to cost Philippine Pesos 250,000. The surgery is estimated to cost almost P500,000.00 or half a million Philippine Peso or  AUD13,000.  The amount that need to be raised is AU$8000.

Donors may donate through this gofundme account:

This is the page on how to make donations on gofundme:

Patient has been waiting for his surgery since December 2018 but there are no funds to buy the Titanium steel spinal implant as well the specialist-surgeon's fee and other pfs and miscellaneous expenses.  His  doctors ordered to protect his identity and cover his face as one of his conditions is a stimagtized disorder.

This case me be verified through the hospital, University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Medical Center, Trunkline number:  7150861 and ask to be connected to the clinic of Dr. Lazo or Dr. Renato Carlos, or Dr. Vicente Tanseco, Dr. Olivia Flores, and Dr. Maria Lourdes Tilbe, the kind doctor who had waived her professional fee to help the family.
